Instructions:

Stifado is a goulash-like beef dish from the Greek cuisine. The special thing about it is the spicy sheep cheese. A meal for those who prefer hearty dishes.

Heat oil strongly in a large shallow roasting pot, add meat. Roast in 10 minutes until crispy brown all over. Add paradeis pulp, water, red wine vinegar, cinnamon, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir well. Bring to a boil once. Pour over meat and simmer with lid on low heat for 60 minutes.

In the meantime, remove the skin from the shallots and add to the meat. Mix. Simmer for another 25 min on low heat.

Cut feta cheese into 1/2 cm cubes. Add in, let sit for 3 min until it begins to melt.

Season stifado and place in warmed bowl.

Rinse and dry parsley and chop finely. Sprinkle over the dish.

Peel and seed tomatoes beforehand and do not use all the liquid.

Our tip : Use sweet red wine for a sweet note and rather dry wine for flavorful, spicy dishes.
